Technical Guide: How To Select Camlock Quick Couplings
Type, material and seal tips for oilfield low-pressure Camlock couplings — and why they must never replace hammer unions on fracturing main lines.
Camlock quick couplings are widely applied for oilfield low-pressure auxiliary pipelines, tank trucks and fluid transfer. Many users make mistakes in type, material and working pressure selection which cause field failures.
Types: 8 standard sizes A/B/C/D/E/F/DC/DP, covering male adapter, female coupler, hose shank, thread ends and dust caps/plugs. Material: Aluminum alloy for water & crude oil; 304/316 stainless steel for corrosive fluids. Seal options: NBR for oil resistance; EPDM for water service; PTFE for harsh chemical media.
Important note: Camlock couplings are low-pressure fittings. Never replace hammer unions for high-pressure fracturing main lines. If you have confusion on selection, send us your medium, size and working pressure. Our engineering team offers free technical support.
